1. The matches will be played on
Sunday evenings. The start time is to be 8.00 p.m.
2a. Match format will be arranged as
15 games of singles
2b. After rule 8 (all names are entered), a coin is tossed to decide
the break for frame 1, then the break alternates down the order to frame12??.
2c. A player is allowed to play a maximum of 3 frames
2d. If a player plays 3 frames, he must play an odd and an even game.
(To allow a fair chance of a break)
2e. Substitutions are allowed up to the commencement of frame 5. All
changes to playing order will be down to the discretion of the captains.
3a. On registering, a
team shall produce a list of at least 5 players to be registered for
that team. Any new players will be deemed to have registered once they
have played for that team.
3b. Each player must only be registered for one team in the league.
He/she must not play for another team unless a transfer has taken place
and this will cost £5. Any mid-season transfers must be put on the back
of the score sheet and paid to the League by the captain or nominee in
the results envelope and posted by hand with the results sheet to to
enable the player to play the following Sunday.
3c. The exception to rule 6a is that a bar person is allowed to play
home games for any single home team. (Could be another team week after!)
4.Nominated captains and vice captains
must be communicated to the results secretary before the completion of
the seasons league fixtures.
5.The winning team should insure that
the result sheet is with the results secretary by 7.00 p.m. on the
Tuesday following the match.This can either be hand
delivered or via Facebook.
6.When filling in the score card, both
captains must write down their team playing order separately and then
jointly fill in the score card legibly and in capitalswith
each player having a maximum of 2 games. Entered names on the score card may
only be re-arranged on agreement of both captains. Both captains (or
nominee's) will sign the card at the end of the match. Teams
are only required to fill in the first ten games at the start of the
night, the rest can be completed after the sixth game.
7.There are two trophies played for in
each division.
8.The league points system will be one
point per frame and NO points for winning the match. The team that wins
the division will have the most points. If two or more teams tie for
first place then the team that has won the most frames will be deemed
the winner, otherwise a play-off will be held.
9.Referees should be registered players
nominated by the captains on match nights. Home teams will referee even
numbered frames and away teams will referee odd numbered frames.
10.Control of the frame iscompletelyin the hands of
the referee. The only exception to this rule is if the referee can be
proven wrong by consulting the rules during the frame. A player has the
option to request an alternative refereebeforethe commencement
of the frame.
11.Team captains are responsible in the
first instance for monitoring behaviour to ensure it is conducive to
the principle of fair play. Should a player feel intimidated by an
opponents threatening behaviour they should appeal to the referee. If
this cannot resolve the matter the penalty will be referral to the
committee for consideration and the possibility of forfeiture of team
points and/or a ban from the league. If the team are unhappy with this
an EGM should berequestedto appeal.
12. The League will
supply a maximum of seven trophies to each winning team for League
competitions. The individual team must pay for any further
requirements. Winning teams who wish to receive one team trophy rather
than six individual trophies should approach the secretary as soon as
possible.
13. At the end of the
League season the player with the highest number of League wins within
their division will take the 'Player of the Year' trophy for that
division. There will be one Player of the Year trophy for women.
14. There will be a
small trophy for each
player who completes one or more '8 ball clearances' in the league (not
competitions). An '8 ball clearance' is defined as if from the break a
player legally clears all his/her own 7 balls plus the black ball in
one visit. The opposing captain must acknowledge this by signing the
back of the score sheet.
15a. All league games
must be played by the last scheduled match of the season. Postponed
league matches must be played by this time and it is the responsibility
of the postponing team to rearrange the match. If this is not completed
within the allocated time schedule then the points will be awarded
against the team postponing the game.
15b. 5 players or more
is considered a team.
16. Cancellation of a match is acceptable up to 3pm on the day of the
match. Any later than this the points will be forfeited to the other
team.
17. Teams that do not
field a team twice in a season should be automatically dropped from the
league, with consideration to be given for re-entry in future seasons.
This will be actioned by the committee.
Basic
Competition rules
Entry fees are NO
LONGER included in the registration free, from 2019.
All normal league rules will apply
with the following exceptions;
18. Start times will be
decided on and published by the competition secretary.
19. The format for the
competitions will be decided by the committee at an AGM, EGM or GM.
20. If any player is
not at their stipulated venue at the set time then they can be excluded
from the competition. In the case of doubles both players must be there
by the set time.
21. Players entering
competitions must be registered as follows:
a)Mens

22. In doubles
competitions a substitute may be found before the first match of the
relevant competition and must remain in partnership throughout the rest
of the competition if:
a) The substitute
player has not previously played in another partnership in this years
competition.
b) The player
requiring the substitute is league registered.
23. Individual
competition games that are best of 3 or above will toss a coin to
decide the order and another toss of a coin if a 'decider' game is
required.
24. A player may only
play for one team in the same Team Knockout Competition.
25. A Captains cup
trophy competition will be run each season. Nominated captains of the
season are eligible, or in their absence, the nominated vice captain.
These positions must be communicated to the results secretary before
the completion of the seasons league fixtures.
26. Team competitions
will be made from 6 singles and 3 doubles. The points system will be
one point per frame for singles, one point per frame for doubles. This
is to avoid a possible draw.
27. Mixed doubles
partners are allowed to chat between shots and should be kept very
short, basically to allow what shot can be played next.
